Alltagsbewältigung hochaltriger Ehepaare: Intrapersonelle und zwischenmenschliche Anpassungsdynamiken
Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse
Work supported by this grant has comprehensively demonstrated how closely intertwined the everyday lives and long-term developmental trajectories often are between (married) spouses in old and very old age. Such spousal associations exist over and above key individual characteristics of both partners and constitute dyad-level characteristics that both profoundly shape and are shaped by the lives of both partners involved. Such linked lives can be both a blessing and a curse, depending upon the specific life circumstances and the outcome variable of interest. Acknowledging such interdependent lives and better understand some of the underlying pathways promises to help older adults make the best out of remaining resources and maintain quality of life for as long as possible.
