Final Report Abstract
In conclusion, we have shown that hepatocytes directly regulate CD1d-restricted antigen presentation via MTP. These data reveal a previously unrecognized mechanism by which hepatocytes can directly modulate immune cell composition and activation in the liver which has important implications for a wide variety of metabolic and immune-mediated liver diseases that derive from alterations in the normally tolerogenic environment of the liver.
