Project Details
Chiral laser desorption
Subject Area
Physical Chemistry of Molecules, Liquids and Interfaces, Biophysical Chemistry
Term
since 2015
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 279232189
In the first period of the project we have proven the possibility of asymmetric laser desorption. However, the mechanism of the process could not be revealed and its potentials and limitations could not be determined. The two ultimate goals of this follow-up research proposal are therefore on the one hand to understand the process of asymmetric laser desorption in a way that we can also explain our newest observation and on the other hand to reliably determine the highest achievable chiral resolution by circularly polarized light.
