The research project investigates how emotions become a matter of dispute in current social conflicts. Looking at intersections of literary and activist public spheres, the project examines ways in which various cultural and political actors negotiate and seek to establish emotional repertoires. Our aim is to make a sociologically and literarily grounded contribution to a better understanding of the increased valorisation of emotions in Germany’s contemporary political culture.
