This project investigates, from a visual-anthropological perspective, how actors in Mexico and the US negotiate transnational belonging affectively by means of patron saint's fiesta videos. Research will be conducted on the affective relationality in the context of media practices and audiovisual representations as well as the resulting emotional repertoires. The project's focus on 'home'-making practices will provide an innovative theoretical and methodical contribution to the affective and emotional dimension of migration and transnational community building.
