In the inverse problem of seismology, we seek subsurface material parameters from measurements of reflected waves. By linearization we are led to an inverse problem for a class of generalized Radon transforms (GRT) where the sound speed is averaged over reflection isochrones. For this inverse problem, we have devised and microlocally analyzed fast and stable reconstruction schemes. In the final funding period, we will study the formation of artifacts in the reconstruction due to limited data, mapping properties of the GRT, and the numerical scheme. Based on these results we will mitigate the impact of artifacts and further advance our inversion algorithm.
