The goal of this project is to understand patterns generated by systems of hyperbolic-parabolic partial differential equations and to analyze their stability properties. The focus will be on the analysis of relative equilibria. An important issue will be the interplay of analytical and numerical techniques. An analytical question is to obtain linear and non-linear stability from spectral properties of the pattern. But to analyze the spectral properties, in parts we will have to rely on numerical approximations of both, the pattern as well as e.g. its spectrum, so that also the error introduced by numerics will be part of our investigation.
