Project Details
Multi-scale geometry measurement of material joining areas (C05)
Subject Area
Production Systems, Operations Management, Quality Management and Factory Planning
Term
since 2015
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 252662854
The goal of subproject C5 is the holistic monitoring of hot-forged workpieces and forming tools within the Tailored-Forming process chain. With the extension of the 4D characterization (geometry and temperature) by an inline 3D tool inspection as well as the improvement of the reconstruction accuracy by simulation-based derivation of adaptive projection patterns, it is possible for the first time to gain in-depth knowledge of the wear mechanisms during the forming of hybrid components. By combining the determination of component and tool wear, complete quality control as well as scrap reduction is enabled.
