Numerical methods for highly oscillatory problems (A07)
Subject Area

The central goals of this project are the construction, the analysis, and the efficient implementation of tailor-made numerical methods for highly oscillatory problems arising in simulations of wave phenomena. In the third funding period, we will focus on the Maxwell–Lorentz system and on the Klein–Gordon–Dirac system. In contrast to conventional methods, the new integrators are intended to provide an accurate approximation even if the oscillations of the solution are not resolved by a very fine discretization.
