Project Details
Modification of cytokines by myeloperoxidase activity and (un)known mediators in resolution of psoriatic disease (A05)
Subject Area
Clinical Immunology and Allergology
Term
from 2015 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 261193037
Project A05 investigates a novel immune regulatory role of myeloperoxidase (MPO) in neutrophils and monocytes/ macrophages. Preliminary data suggest that in the absence of MPO, the activity of proteases released from granulocytes and monocytes/macrophages is increased and activates the pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-36. Project A05 therefore addresses the functional role of MPO in resolution of inflammation, i.e. by modifying IL-36 cytokine activity.
