Project Details
Uncertainty Quantification and Analysis in Visualization (A01)
Subject Area
Image and Language Processing, Computer Graphics and Visualisation, Human Computer Interaction, Ubiquitous and Wearable Computing
Term
since 2015
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 251654672
Our goal is to model, propagate, and quantify uncertainty throughout the entire visualization process, from visualization-specific models of uncertainty to the visual representation of, and interaction with, uncertainty information. We plan to continue and extend our research in this regard, building on our work from the previous funding periods. As new directions, we will address uncertainty quantification for deep-learning-based visualization, a Bayesian visualization framework for conditional uncertainties and other dependencies, and a focus on basic visual and auditory representations of uncertainty.
