Project Details
Spin-resolved electronic and transport properties of clean and doped topological materials (A02)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
since 2015
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 258499086
We employ the spin-polarized molecular nanoprobe technique, which allows for investigations at single-nm length scales and with single-impurity sensitivity. We will investigate the spin-momentum locking for Dirac electrons on the surface Bi2Se3, study how the propagation of charge carriers is affected by single defects or adatoms, and design engineered adatom assemblies for improved quantum transport functionalities.
