Project Details
GRK 434: Biochemistry of Enzymes
Subject Area
Basic Research in Biology and Medicine
Term
from 1998 to 2007
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 272379
The aim of this research training group is a synthesis of various scientific disciplines, providing information about modern concepts and methods of biochemistry of enzymes. The faculties chemistry and pharmacy, medicine and biology cover 15 fields of research dealing with proteins as biocatalysts. This research is topical and important through use of available genome sequences and up-to-date chemical-analytical, molecular biological and physical methods. Studies range from characterizing newly discovered enzymes to catalytic mechanisms as well as structure elucidation.
