Project Details
GRK 312: Homogenous and Heterogenous Electron Transfer
Subject Area
Physical Chemistry
Term
from 1996 to 2005
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 271771
In many chemical systems, natural or artificial, the most important reaction step is one involving a homogenous or heterogenous electron transfer. The aim of the research training group is the comprehensive education of PhD students covering the multifaceted aspects which govern this elementary reaction step. To this end, a series of specialized events is organized addressing important aspects of synthesis, spectroscopic characterization, kinetic and electrochemical procedures, and quantum chemical modeling. Reports by the participants (Kollegiaten) help to improve the contact between each other and promote the readiness for mutual support. In cooperative projects between different research groups, the ability for interdisciplinary teamwork is fostered.
