The manuscript Chig. I. VI. 232 preserved at the Vatican Library contains an epos that has been forgotten for over five hundred years and narrating of the 1506 war between the city of Bologna and the Pope's army. The recent rediscovery identified the text as the Felsinais by Marco Girolamo Vida (1485 - 1566), an important Italian Renaissance literate. The goal of the project is, following Gérard Genette's narratological methodology, to describe the text structure and to analyse the different aspects of the war, a central theme in the book. The result will be collected in two articles of different length (approximately 15 and 35 - 40 pages) to be published in two important academic journals (Neulateinisches Jahrbuch und Studi Medievali).
