Project Details
Impact of nuclear spin cooling on carrier spin coherence (A06)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2015 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 249492093
The project objective is to investigate the possibility to increase the spin coherence time of charge carriers interacting with the nuclear spin system providing deep cooling of the nuclear spins. This would allow us to suppress spin fluctuations of the lattice nuclei known to be one of the main factors limiting the coherence time of charge carriers in semiconductors. We will optimize the dynamic nuclear polarization for reaching a high nuclear spin ordering and investigate experimentally and theoretically the coherent spin dynamics of carriers and nuclei in this situation. We will also search for a spin-ordered nuclear state in the deeply cooled nuclear spin system.
