Project Details
Defined cooperativity in catalytic Ru-Cu polynuclear systems (B07*)
Subject Area

The aim of this project is to prepare homo- and hetero-dinuclear complexes based on Ru and Cu, and toapply the resulting defined organometallic species as catalysts in cross-dehydrogenative-coupling (CDC)amination reactions. The ligands are made of three tethered parts: 1) the coordination site of Ru, generallyan electron-rich ¿-arene system, 2) the coordination site of Cu, generally a carboxylate moiety, and 3) a covalentorganic linker between the two. The nature of the coordination sites of Ru and Cu derive from ourknowledge of CDC-amination reactions, which we studied in detail over the first funding period. These indicatethat one single metal alone cannot achieve such a reactivity. We expect the developed cooperativepolynuclear catalysts to improve significantly the scope of CDC-amination reactions.
