Project Details
Chemical biology tools for infectious diseases research (Z03+)
Subject Area
Biological and Biomimetic Chemistry
Term
from 2014 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 240245660
The goal of project Z3 is the collaborative development of new chemical biology tools for infectious disease re-search. Specifically, new tools for the generation of functional viral structural proteins will be developed. Further-more, novel fluorescent probes for live-cell imaging will be generated. Finally, innovative approaches for the visual-ization of de novo DNA synthesis in live cells will be pursued. While Kai Johnsson is a new member of this consorti-um, tools developed by his group have already been used by numerous groups of the SFB in the first funding peri-od. This ensures an efficient integration of the Johnsson group in the consortium.
