The Z2 project has been working on implementing and improving workflows for high accuracy light- and electron microscopy correlation techniques. Based on these methods, morphological changes have been studied at sub-cellular scale on a number of infection biology models. Whilst mostly applied to cultured cells so far, we propose to now progress on getting ultrastructural information from larger sample sizes, from cellular to organismal models. For this, we will implement state of the art volume correlation techniques and will develop new methods that will enhance the precision and throughput of volume imaging.
