Building on the groundwork laid by the first phase of the dictionary project (Digital Philological-Etymological Dictionary of the Minor Language Corpora of Ancient Anatolia) and in accordance with the aims of the first phase, the second phase intends to finalize the first exhaustive lexical assessment of the entire corpus of the lesser attested ancient Anatolian languages, i.e. Luwian, Lycian (A and B), Carian, Lydian, Palaic, Sidetic and Pisidian. A Beta version of the electronic dictionary (eDiAna) with representative samples has recently been released (https://www.ediana.gwi.uni-muenchen.de) and will be augmented and updated every 6 months. The entries of the dictionary include the philological documentation of word usage with regard to semantics, grammar (forms and constructions) and the historical linguistic interrelationships of the minor languages with Hittite and the other Indo-European languages (Proto-Anatolian and Indo-European etymology). The Digital Philological-Etymological Dictionary of the Minor Language Corpora of Ancient Anatolia will serve as a fundamental resource for Hittitology, Ancient Anatolian, and Ancient Near Eastern Studies, as well as for Indo-Europeanists. It will be published both online (with multiple search options) and in printed form (print-on-demand). This will make it accessible to a broad public, including scholars of many different disciplines.
