Due to the expansion of the communication studies the online journal ¿Studies in Communication | Media (SC|M)¿ shall be enlarged to an international open access journal. The journal publishes current research findings and controverses from all research areas of the communication studies field. The aim is to publish empirical as well as theoretical surveys and to give impulses with current insights. The journal reflects the international state-of-the-art of research and it informs about new developments and controverses. The contributions are interdisciplinary and that way they establish a forum for scientific perspectives and the academic communication. Through the facilitation, the online journal should get an extended quality and a more professionalised review procedure. In cooperation with the Nomos publishing house the journal shall get both an adequate and professional software equipment and an organisational surrounding for the storage and archiving of scientific contributions and their retrieving in the world wide web.
