Viral Vector Facility (Z04)

In the previous funding period the viral vector facility was in high demand and very productive in production, design and advise for viral vector tools. We produced a total of 111 viral vectors for the different projects including cloning of most of the vectors. We also established in 2015 production of adeno-associated viral vectors, as there was an increasing request from the projects. This production line works very well now producing high quality and high titre virus. We produce 10 different serotypes of AAVs which is important to target different cells in the CNS including different species (such as the gerbil). As the expression of interest from the different projects indicates a further increase in AAV requests, we suggest an automated tittering system to improve efficiency.
