Final Report Abstract

In our view, the results of this project are of significant relevance to 5G wireless communication systems which will employ massive MIMO for high data rate transmission. Our proposed methods are beneficial for massive MIMO channel estimation in order to eliminate the effect of pilot contamination. Our main focus in this project was on blind methods which exploit only the basic properties of the practical cases. In other words, we only assumes that the signals from different users are independent which is valid in most of the cases. If sparsity of the channel holds in some scenarios, then the joint utilization of SVD and sparse detection performs very well in the high SNR regime.
