Project Details
Function and specificity of BSK family kinases in apical-basal patterning of the early embryo (B01)
Subject Area
Plant Cell and Developmental Biology
Term
from 2014 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 232631280
We are testing the functional role of transposon sequences in the SSP locus in conferring a DUO1-dependent, sperm cell-specific expression pattern of SSP. By structural analysis of the SSP and BSK1 kinase domain and full-length protein, we want to understand the differences in activity of these two proteins on a mechanistic level. Furthermore, we want to elucidate if SSP specifically activates YDA-dependent signaling pathways or is principally capable of activating other BSK-dependent signaling pathways
