The aim of the project is to produce rotationally symmetric components without wrinkling and minimal sheet thickness reduction in small-sized lots. This requirement will be realized by using the new incremental forming process rotational swing folding. It is necessary to determine process limits (wrinkling and sheet thinning) for this kind of new process technology. Within the requestet project, a fundamental understanding about the evolution of wrinkling and sheet thickness has to be gained. Therefore numerical simulation and experimental methods will be used. By applying the gained knowledge, rotationally symmetric components will be produced with high quality and without wrinkles and minimal sheet thinning.
