Project Details
Unsteady Modeling and Simulation of Oxy-Fuel Combustion Chambers (C02)
Subject Area
Energy Process Engineering
Term
since 2013
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 215035359
The overall objective of project C2 is to develop a comprehensive modelling framework for the combustion of pulverized solid fuel with oxy-fuel combustion, which will be used to simulate and analyze the physico-chemical processes in combustion chambers of different sizes. An essential aspect is the transfer and coupling of the sub-models, which are developed and validated in the individual projects. In FP3 the continuous integration of the sub-models into the modelling frame-work in the CFD library OpenFOAM will be continued under consideration of two new aspects: Bi-omass as solid fuel and scaling up to a reactor on a semi-industrial scale.
