Project Details
Kinetic investigations of the effect of catalytically active minerals in biomass-derived solid fuels on pyrolysis and char conversion under oxy-fuel conditions (A05)
Subject Area
Energy Process Engineering
Term
since 2013
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 215035359
A5 investigates to which extent minerals accelerate the oxidation and gasification reactions. The chemical transformations of the catalytically active inorganic species are investigated in detail to account for their influence on the catalytic properties including mutual interactions and loading de-pendencies. A5 will provide well-defined model fuels of mixtures of biomass-relevant components and reactive bio-coke by applying fast pyrolysis. A5 provides pyrolysis product distributions as well as changes in the burnout kinetics, which will be used to extend the CPD (A1), the CCK (A2), and the CRECK-S model (A8) by catalytic effects.
