Project Details
Core-multishell nanocarriers for drug delivery into skin (A02)
Subject Area
Organic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
from 2013 to 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 234930468
This project aims to develop new water-dispersible CMS nanocarriers for controlled drug delivery and stimuli-controlled release in the skin. It will focus on the one hand on the design, synthesis, characterization, and pharmaceutical application of redox-sensitive CMS architectures based on dendritic polyglycerols. These nanocarriers are especially characterized by their biocompatibility, their defined size in the nanometer range (~10 nm), excellent solubility, and ability to entrap and transport both hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs with a focus on tacrolimus and tofacitinib. They will respond to redox stimuli, such as oxidative stress and reductive environments by using tailored linker systems.
