Project Details
Relaxation, thermalization, transport and condensation in highly excited solids (B03)
Subject Area
Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Term
since 2013
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 217133147
The project aims at an improved understanding of the dynamics of excitations in strongly correlated materials: how does the quasiparticle description emerge following an optical excitation? Which mechanisms determine their lifetime? For this purpose, ab initio and model-based many-body methods (analytical and numerical) are developed and applied. New aspects of the 3rd funding period are e.g., the effect of the intensity of the excitation on the lifetime of the excitations, as well as the effect of dimensionality and of interfaces on the dynamics.
