J. Rademann and J. Schiller investigate the structure-activity relationship of defined sulfated oligohyaluronans as ligands of mediators and building blocks of aECM. For this purpose, a collection of defined sulfated hyaluronan (HA) -Tetra, hexa and octasaccharides as well as fluorescence and spin-labeled HA conjugates will employed in binding assays, structural- and functional analysis and immobilized onto surfaces. These GAG-derivatives will be analyzed by multidimensional mass spectrometry, ion mobility MS and pulsed field gradient NMR.
