Project Details
Host-pathogen interactions triggering infection signal networks in Aspergillus fumigatus, Candida albicans and human immune cells (B02)
Subject Area
Bioinformatics and Theoretical Biology
Term
since 2013
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 210879364
Project B2 aims at an in-depth analysis of host-pathogen signaling networks by linking the established surface interactome and signal transduction with downstream (transcriptional) responses in fungi and immune cells. We will resolve host-pathogen signaling interactions on a molecular level in a cell type-specific manner in order to tackle the question: How do macrophages, neutrophils and T-cells interact with pathogenic fungi under specific conditions? B2 will also describe in detail the signal transduction of immune cells and fungal cells under various infection conditions, such as infection onset and local infection versus sepsis.
