Final Report Abstract

The observing run was very successfull: At least one runaway star was found to be an early-type and, hence, massive star: The early-B-type (hence, massive) runaway star HD 37424 in the SNR G180.0-1.7 moves away from the geometric center of the SNR; in addition, there is a neutron star moving away from the geometric center of that SNR (towards a different direction); given the 2-D proper motions, both the runaway star and the neutron star were 35 ± 3 kyr ago at the geometric center of that SNR - hence, most certainly formed there in a SN in a binary. This is the first observational proof that runaway stars can form in SNe in a binary.
