In Tera50+ we will develop a novel photonics-based system architecture with up to 50 GHz bandwidth for experimentally demonstrating high-speed wireless data transmission beyond 100 Gb/s at 60 GHz and at THz carrier frequencies. Based upon the original research work carried out within the actual SPP 1655 project Tera50, we propose a novel coherent radio over fiber (CRoF) approach and ad-vanced digital pre- and post-compensation for developing a flexible and open wireless system archi-tecture that is advantageously in terms of a reduced complexity, potentially offers low-power consumption and that can be utilized by other SPP partners for joint measurement campaigns for testing functional subsystems. We will theoretically and experimentally analyze performance parameters such as maximum spectral efficiency, maximum wireless distance, channel bandwidth, SNR, spatial multiplexing gain etc. at 100 Gb/s for further improving the system architecture.
