Project Details
Theory of electro-optic and chiral coupling in plasmonically enhanced HIOS (B10)
Subject Area
Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2013 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 182087777
The goal of this project is the development of a comprehensive theoretical framework for electrically driven plasmonic nano-gap structures with sandwiched hybrid inorganic/organic systems (HIOS) and for HIOS that are chirally coupled to plasmonic nano-structures. This will be done on the semi-classical level by a combination of numerical multi-scale modeling (Maxwell equations for light coupled to tight-binding/few-level Schrödinger equations for transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs)/conjugated organic molecules) and quasi-normal-mode based coupled-mode approaches including spatial dispersion and chiral coupling.
