Final Report Abstract

Summarizing, in spite of the restricted funds provided all main objectives and goals declared have been reached. This DFG project can be characterized as very successful. It has enriched the community with the tested, calibrated, benchmarked many-body MCTDHB method capable of solving time-dependent and time-independent Hamiltonians in 1D, 2D, 3D setups with bosons interacting via general interparticle potentials numerically exactly. The developed package is now available within the MCTDHB-Laboratory - a cross-platform (Win/Linux/Mac) scientific environment, see the MCTDHB-Lab web-portal http://www.mctdhb-lab.com, where one can learn and study quantum many-body dynamics by clicking a mouse in the respective JavaFX-based frontend GUI. On the physical side our results have significantly advanced the field of ultracold atoms and molecules, because a lot of new time-independent effects and novel time-dependent phenomena have been discovered, studied, reported and explained. Moreover, explicit recommendations for experimental realizations of the proposed effects and phenomena in a form of feasible and simple dynamical protocols and instructions have been given. Finally, the outcomes of this project have already opened a roadmap for theoretical investigation of many-body effects and dynamical phenomena taking place in ultracold atomic clouds at the highest possible theoretical level available in the field nowadays. With the novel understandings gained and new theoretical tools equipped we expect much more exciting many-body physics and breakthrough discoveries ahead.
