The Integrated Research Training Group (IGK) offers a structured qualification program in scientific and key skills to all PhD students financed and associated to the CRC1078. The goal is to prepare the doctoral candidates with necessary skills for a successful career in academic research and in the non-academic sector. The IGK curriculum, embedded in the graduate school Molecular Science of the Dahlem Research School (DRS), involves the doctoral thesis work which is complemented by research training via lecture series, seminars, and laboratory training in different research contexts, as well as by a program for key skills offered by the DRS. The PhD students will have many occasions to actively learn about the works of their colleagues in the CRC, to communicate science, and to present and discuss their own scientific results. The scientific exchange will be further fostered by workshops, the IGK seminar days, and self-organized seminars and retreats. The program is integrated in the structured doctoral researcher qualification programs of all participating universities.
