In the second phase of the subproject C03, a functionalized sensor network based on a combination of polymer-optical foil spectrometers (PolyAWG) with polymer-based Bragg gratings and chromatic sensors will be developed and its functionality experimentally verified. In parallel, a digital nanophotonic coupling element will be designed to enable a defined cross-coupling of broadband light from a multimode waveguide to single-mode waveguide. Furthermore, a mechanical stabilization of the polymer foil in the area of PolyAWG is required. Here, the focus will be on both the local implementation of nanofibers into the polymer substrate (foil) and the use of polymers with different thermo-optic coefficients.
