Project Details
Dynamically forced impingement cooling in realistic turbine blades (B03)
Subject Area
Fluid Mechanics
Term
from 2012 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 200291049
The aim of the third funding phase is to test and investigate dynamically forced impingement cooling concentrating on its application in a realistic two-dimensional blade geometry. The main focus is on the development of an actuation system based on fluidic actuators without mechanically switching parts. These actuators will be employed to design a fluidically self-switching impingement jet array that can be scalably adapted to different test carrier sizes. This will contribute to the control of thermal load peaks within the turbine blading due to pressure-increasing combustion.
