Project Details
Priming and memory in response to photoperiod stress in Arabidopsis thaliana (C01)
Subject Area
Plant Cell and Developmental Biology
Term
from 2012 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 190578797
An altered photoperiod induces in Arabidopsis a stress response. A photoperiod stress event suppresses for some days the full response to a second similar or a different stress event indicating priming and memory. The response of plants subjected to different priming-triggering stress scenarios will be studied in detail with a special focus on the role of light quality and quantity. The characterisation of stress-induced changes of the transcriptome and metabolome as well as genetic analyses will identify genes and signalling pathways associated with priming and memory of photoperiod stress.
