Project Details
Priming the chromatin in response to heat stress in Arabidopsis thaliana (A02)
Subject Area
Plant Genetics and Genomics
Term
from 2012 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 190578797
Moderate heat stress (HS) primes a plant to subsequently withstand high temperatures that are lethal to a plant in the naïve state. After return to non-stress conditions the primed state is maintained over several days, and this memory is linked to sustained chromatin modifications. Through genetic analysis we have isolated novel positive and negative regulators of HS-induced transcriptional memory. The project focuses on the isolation and characterisation of the underlying genes and their involvement in thermomemory. Thus, our work will uncover novel layers of regulation during thermomemory.
