Project Details
Context-dependence of thermopriming in fungi (A01)
Subject Area
Ecology and Biodiversity of Plants and Ecosystems
Term
from 2012 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 190578797
Experience of heat stress primes fungi for improved responses to further heat stress. The goal of this project is to elucidate to what degree priming responses are robust to other influences a fungus may experience. In particular, we will test the importance of three groups of factors in determining thermopriming responses in our fungi: abiotic factors other than heat, resource availability, and sound as a source of information about environmental conditions. In addition, we will study molecular/biochemical aspects underlying thermopriming responses using the model fungus, Neurospora crassa.
