The unwritten Prasun language of the Afghan Hindukush, spoken by about 3000 people is the most aberrant, most difficult and least known of the so-called Nuristan languages. Some of their lexemes have been discussed by scholars of Indo-Iranian philology. Regarding the grammar, only very few reliable facts are known. Extensive materials collected by G. Buddruss during difficult field research in 1956 and 1970 will provide a much clearer picture of this idiom and are currently being prepared for publication in print.
