Project identifier

In the first phase of the project, a wealth of data has been integrated into common data repository that has accumulated in an isotopic map of the reference region. This integrated data source offers the possibility for a comprehensive exploration of archaeological questions including various aspects of archaeological findings beyond the limitations of traditional approaches that are typically based on only one or very few aspects. To facilitate this comprehensive application of the isotopic map, however, full access to the data has to be granted in terms of interfaces for complex queries as well as the proliferation of unknown patterns extracted by sophisticated data mining algorithms. The results of these queries and the extracted patterns must be stored in the database, too.The goal of this sub-project is the support of the other project partners in applying the isotopic map through dedicated methods for data mining, in particular clustering and outlier detection, as well as similarity search. These methods will be publicly accessible through a sustainable web portal making the data and the methods derived and developed in this joint project available.
