Analysis and simulations with space-filling packings and bearings, which concern computational algorithms, based on iterative maps, to cover areas and volumes with macroscopicallysized solid particles in tangential contact. The main goal is to study their geometrical properties and dynamical features when the tangential particles roll on each other and also to ascertain which applications they have in physical systems, namely in turbulent flows. Special emphasis is given to random packings and bearings for which several geometrical properties are not yet known or studied, and which seem to be the most promising candidates to applications for natural phenomena.
