The main goal of this project is to develop new invariants for 3-manifolds, 4-manifolds and contact structures, the study of their properties and thefurther investigation of the known invariants. Our starting point are the symbolhomologies. These symbol homologies enable us to prove structural propertiesof Heegaard Floer homologies and enable us to investigate the relationship between the various flavors of Heegaard Floer homologies.
