Project Details
Oxidative stress, osmoregulation and microglia activation in hepatic encephalopathy (B04)
Subject Area
Gastroenterology
Term
from 2012 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 190586431
The project will analyze changes in the O-GlcNAcome and proteome and their potential significance for the pathogenesis of hepatic encephalopathy (HE) in ammonia-treated cultured rat astrocytes and animal models for HE and in post mortem brain samples from patients with liver cirrhosis with or without HE. In a clinically-oriented study we aim to identify gene polymorphisms that potentially predispose patients with liver cirrhosis for the development of HE.
