Project Details
Single crystal Co-base superalloys (B03)
Subject Area
Metallurgical, Thermal and Thermomechanical Treatment of Materials
Term
from 2012 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 190389738
B3, the central project on Co-base superalloys, develops highly alloyed CoNi-superalloys with optimized microstructures and properties. Among others, in-situ diffraction and scattering methods are employed for characterization. The γ/γ’-microstructure is selectively varied to reveal the optimal γ’ arrangement, morphology and size. The mechanical properties in the medium temperature range are studied to identify potential application areas. B3 leads the cross sectional group Alloy development with the objective of generating modern tools for alloy development and advanced superalloys with enhanced properties.
