Project Details
ADIR: the AstroFIT Data InfRastructure (INF)
Subject Area
Physics
Term
from 2012 to 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 187005812
In the next funding period, the INF project aims towards improving infrastructure, strengthening the research data management and providing further training and guidance on data management for the CRC scientists. First, the link between SFB publications and research data sets archived by an advanced information system for data archiving will be improved. Fur-thermore, the visibility of research data and publications should be increased at the sites of the Collaborative Research Center, in coordination with the local group leaders and strategies for research data management. In accompanying steps, archiving processes are documented and information systems are adapted according to the OAIS standards (Open Archival Information System - ISO 14721:2012). Hereby, best practices for research data archiving will be used by the INF project to implemented well-recognized international standards for long-term archiving. The INF project also accompanies the CRC projects through workshops and trainings in order to implement a better understanding of data management and the use of research data within the processes of the scientists.
