Project Details
Sustainable welding production by combined application of numerical simulation and new process technologies (B03)
Subject Area
Metal-Cutting and Abrasive Manufacturing Engineering
Term
from 2012 to 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 199828953
The main research goal of project B3 is to develop sustainable welding procedures for a broad range of thick metal plate components. High power arc processes will be developed that consume fewer resources and fulfil the economic as well as social requirements. High power Gas Metal Arc and Submerged Arc Welding are promising with regard to these objectives and will be examined with respect to filler material and electricity consumption. Furthermore, application of B3 technolo-gies to real part geometries will be enabled by methods for automated production.
