Applying optical methods to iron-pnictides, we want to explore the interaction of magnetism and superconductivity, the multi-band effect, the influence of electronic correlations and the electron-bosonic coupling. From the analysis of our broad-band spectra we obtain information on electronic transitions, the shift of spectral weight, the opening of energy gaps, but also on the low-energy scattering effects. The determination of the superconducting gap, its symmetry, possible states in the gap, and of the superfluid carrier density is crucial for the characterization of the superconducting state. In the Eu-122-compounds the magnetic coupling of the Eu- and Fe-subsystems is of particular importance; it will be tuned by an external magnetic field.
